The latest TrainingPeaks Virtual update, v0.4.20, released April 9th, marks the return of the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt - a community fav!
Editor’s note: Since early June 2023, we’ve highlighted the rapid evolution of indieVelo with weekly update posts. Not everyone receives the emails or is a member of the various social media groups, and the more searchable mentions available, the better to promote the indieVelo, err, Training Peaks Virtual vision. The name is different, and the once-a-week cadence might change, but the commitment to promoting the platform hasn’t wavered.
A Note From the George Gilbert, TrainingPeaks Virtual Founder: |
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt!
Why an Easter Egg Hunt? When first creating TrainingPeaks Virtual, one of the early bits of community feedback was for a unique, fun and interesting event that everyone could enjoy together. In particular, we collectively wanted something interactive and motivating – something to spark curiosity and add an extra boost to your training… which is, after all, the main reason why most people ride indoors in the first place. Out of this came the idea for a traditional Easter Egg Hunt, where the more you ride and the more routes you try, the more chance you have of discovering the hidden eggs.
For the next few weeks, 10 brightly colored Easter Eggs have been scattered across the Virtual world, waiting to be discovered. As you ride, explore new routes, and take on fresh challenges, keep an eye out for these elusive treasures. Each egg is visible from the road, and as a new addition for this year, you can now track your progress with the in-app UI and leaderboards to see how you stack up against other riders.
Find all 10 eggs, and you may have a special prize headed your way, more details to come! So grab your bike, hop on the Virtual roads, and let the egg-citement begin. Happy hunting!
