The latest TrainingPeaks Virtual update, v0.4.10, released January 27th, makes the Apple TV remote so much easier to use, thankfully, and teams easier to find and follow on TPVirtualHub.
Editor’s note: Since early June 2023, we’ve highlighted the rapid evolution of indieVelo with weekly update posts. Not everyone receives the emails or is a member of the various social media groups, and the more searchable mentions available, the better to promote the indieVelo, err, Training Peaks Virtual vision. The name is different, and the once-a-week cadence might change, but the commitment to promoting the platform hasn’t wavered.
A Note From the George Gilbert, TrainingPeaks Virtual Founder: |
This week’s release of TrainingPeaks Virtual continues to implement the features that you’ve requested. Headlining is the addition of full support for the 2nd & 3rd generation Apple TV Siri remotes (with the ring click pad), and the Apple TV “Click Only” mode. These significantly improve menu navigation on Apple TV, enabling you to easily move around by using directional button clicks rather than swiping.
We have also introduced an online page for each team at https://TPVirtualHub.com/teams.
This showcases the coaches and teams on TrainingPeaks Virtual, and helps promote your work by making key information (such as upcoming events organized by you) easily discoverable to athletes online. This is just an initial landing page for now which we intend to build further on in the coming weeks and months ahead – please let us know your thoughts and ideas about what else you would like to see included.
In Episode 58 of the Virtual Velo Podcast, Chris and Emma welcome Dirk Friel, co-founder and Chief Evangelist of Training Peaks, and Dr. George Gilbert, the creator of indieVelo, to discuss their newly formed partnership and the launch of Training Peaks Virtual.
As ever, there’s also a wide range of other additions, improvements and fixes, including making the FIT files generated by TrainingPeaks Virtual more widely compatible with 3rd parties, better support for Bluetooth connectivity to a larger range of devices, and continuing the essential infrastructure work to make diagnosing issues easier and faster, and keeping everything running smoothly under the covers.
All of these updates have been driven by listening to your feedback on our dedicated TrainingPeaks Virtual UserVoice forum. Please keep your suggestions coming, and discuss / vote on those from others, and we’ll keep building those features that you ask for. Your feedback is hugely appreciated and makes an enormous difference to helping create the experiences that committed athletes and coaches want and need.
Please continue to share your ideas on UserVoice, or discuss and vote on those from others, and we’ll keep building those features that you ask for. Your feedback is hugely appreciated and makes an enormous difference to the features we work on for you.
