The latest TrainingPeaks Virtual update, v0.4.6, released December 8th, 2024, makes finding events and teams and using the ATV remote easier.
Editor’s note: Since early June 2023, we’ve highlighted the rapid evolution of indieVelo with weekly update posts. Not everyone receives the emails or is a member of the various social media groups, and the more searchable mentions available, the better to promote the indieVelo, err, Training Peaks Virtual vision. The name is different, and the once-a-week cadence might change, but the commitment to promoting the platform hasn’t wavered.
A Note From the George Gilbert, TrainingPeaks Virtual Founder: |
TrainingPeaks Virtual continues to put the wants and needs of athletes and coaches first. Our priority is making sure we deliver a seamless experience that makes training and racing as frictionless as possible, both indoors and out. This week’s release of TrainingPeaks Virtual (see below for full details) remains focused on your requests for how to make it even better. Headlines include numerous changes to the UI to make finding events, teams and other information quicker, improved compatibility with a wider range of ANT+ and Bluetooth devices, and a new battery saving graphics mode to enable you to ride for longer on mobile devices. Backing these up are a wide range of behind the scenes improvements and fixes to keep everything running smoothly, and making any issues encountered even quicker to diagnose and resolve. |
In Episode 58 of the Virtual Velo Podcast, Chris and Emma welcome Dirk Friel, co-founder and Chief Evangelist of Training Peaks, and Dr. George Gilbert, the creator of indieVelo, to discuss their newly formed partnership and the launch of Training Peaks Virtual.
Over the next few weeks we will be pulling together our roadmap for 2025 and ensuring the infrastructure that provides TrainingPeaks Virtual’s solid and stable platform remains as it continues to scale up. To set expectations, this means that the next app update will be in early January.
In parallel, we are also growing and expanding the TrainingPeaks Virtual team – if you’re a Senior Software Engineer, Senior Game Designer, or have other relevant skills that you can bring to the party, please check out https://peaksware.com/careers.
TrainingPeaks Virtual will just self-update the next time you open the app. If you find any problems, please follow instructions on how to manually update here.

“Please keep your thoughts and ideas coming into the dedicated TrainingPeaks Virtual UserVoice forum, where your suggestions can be shared, discussed and voted on. These will form the basis of the features we’ll be working on next, and your feedback is central to this. Thank you all again, and I can’t wait to see what we all can build together in the coming weeks, months and years ahead. “
