The latest TrainingPeaks Virtual update, v0.4.4, released November 25th, 2024, adds data synchronization from Training Peaks to TP Virtual.
Editor’s note: Since early June 2023, we’ve highlighted the rapid evolution of indieVelo with weekly update posts. Not everyone receives the emails or is a member of the various social media groups, and the more searchable mentions available, the better to promote the indieVelo, err, Training Peaks Virtual vision. The name is different, and the once-a-week cadence might change, but the commitment to promoting the platform hasn’t wavered.
A Note From the George Gilbert, TrainingPeaks Virtual Founder: |
TrainingPeaks Virtual is continuing to deliver the experiences committed athletes and coaches want and need. This week’s release (see below for full details) focuses on one of the most highly requested enhancements to make virtual training easy and frictionless to use – seamless synchronization of athlete data between TrainingPeaks and TrainingPeaks Virtual. For example, if you or your coach updates your Zone 2 power threshold in TrainingPeaks, then that change will also instantly apply to your training zones in TrainingPeaks Virtual. This feature also seamlessly works with other TrainingPeaks synchronization – for example, if you have a set of smart scales that synchronizes with TrainingPeaks, then your weight will automatically be updated in TrainingPeaks Virtual too. |
In Episode 58 of the Virtual Velo Podcast, Chris and Emma welcome Dirk Friel, co-founder and Chief Evangelist of Training Peaks, and Dr. George Gilbert, the creator of indieVelo, to discuss their newly formed partnership and the launch of Training Peaks Virtual.
The release also contains a number of other highly requested additions, improvements and fixes. These include enhancements to enable fast single-click logins when using the Remember-Me function, Performance Verification in competitive events (both to ensure that these races are on a level playing field, and to give a better explanation to riders of how to address problems with their equipment if they are gaining an undue advantage), and lots of small updates to the UI to make everything easier to find and use.
TrainingPeaks Virtual will just self-update the next time you open the app. If you find any problems, please follow instructions on how to manually update here.
