The indieVelo February 2024 monthly challenge includes a timed Keirin Sprint Race and cumulative climbing totals.
Another month, another challenge! indieVelo’s monthly challenges are a great way to engage with the platform and test your fitness against your indoor fellows! A great new one this month!
Training
Training: We have a new mountain! You know what we’re talking about. It would be rude not to use it. All rides count (free riding, pacing, training, racing), and your challenge is your own cumulative total height climbed for the month.
Racing
Racing: It’s time for something different – a Keirin Sprint on the Forest Velodrome. Every hour throughout the month, there’s a special event running in-game and highlighted in gold in the events tab in The Hub. You can enter as many times as you like, and your challenge is to post the fastest time you can.
[Note that the Keirin isn’t a Time Trial. You can draft, and it’s also timed over the total distance, not just the last lap (though the pacer should be doing the first three laps identically every time, so it should be equivalent). It may or may not work as a challenge, but this is all about trying something new and seeing what’s good and what isn’t. We can fix it up as we go along!]
Both these challenges are now active on the server, so feel free to get started straight away. Good luck, and have fun!
