In September ’23, when Wahoo and Zwift found an amicable end to pending patent dispute litigation, the companies agreed to “a renewed approach to collaboration.”
Wahoo reduced the price of its KICKR Core to $599, making it comparable to the Zwift Hub. Zwift resumed selling Wahoo products on their website and moved to exclusively offer their Zwift Hub Classic trainer hardware bundled with a year of Zwift at a lesser price.
Zwift released the Zwift Cog and Click in October ’23. The hardware replaces the entire rear cassette and shifting mechanism, converting your smart trainer setup into a smart bike and significantly streamlining the onboarding process. They also introduced the Zwift Hub One, including the trainer, Cog and Click, and a year of Zwift. The company introduced the Zwift Play controllers earlier this year.
Beginning today, consumers will find a few changes, according to Wahoo and Zwift.
- Wahoo is permanently reducing the KICKR CORE from $ 599 USD to $ 449 USD.
- Zwift will no longer offer the Zwift Hub Classic for purchase.
- Wahoo and Zwift bundles will be available across the entire KICKR line.
Wahooligans and Zwifters rejoice! The mutual collaboration between companies took another step forward today with Wahoo’s announcement of new bundled pricing available across its entire KICKR range, with a more straightforward setup process. The company also reduced KICKR Core pricing and added the choice of preinstalled cassette.
KICKR and Zwift membership bundles give you an all-in-one hardware and virtual riding software, ready-to-ride experience right from the box. The new bundled pricing, which includes one year of Zwift, will be available across the entire KICKR range—KICKR SNAP, KICKR ROLLR, KICKR CORE, KICKR, KICKR MOVE, KICKR BIKE SHIFT and KICKR BIKE.
Wahoo has streamlined the onboarding process for customers through the Wahoo app, making it quicker and easier to set up the indoor riding experience. Furthermore, the Wahoo App now automatically shares all rides on Zwift, giving customers access to their complete workout history if they used Zwift, SYSTM, or an ELEMNT GPS computer for outdoor rides.
Wahoo's new bundles will revolutionize the indoor cycling experience. Our goal is to provide customers with unprecedented options, affordability, and an easy, enjoyable onboarding process. Together with Zwift, we are thrilled to be able to offer the broadest range of choice and functionality in the indoor cycling category, helping to build the better athlete in all of us.
